In 1979 I began my journey into ammy drammy, as properties person for a Derek Benfield farce, "Panic
Stations", which involved a dead rabbit and a shotgun. It was a baptism of
fire and I've never looked back!
Whatever the company, there will always be a
changing pool of actors to dip in and out of and they will, to some extent,
determine the type of play chosen. If the company has been going for a
long time there'll probably be a wide variety of plays in it's repertoire. Some
stand the test of time, others are iconic and best left in the past!.
New plays are being written as I'm writing this, so there's a huge, ever
changing, choice out there for you. Comedy, farce, straight plays, period drama,
who dun it's, they're all out there in ever growing numbers!
On "the
choice is yours" I've given links to
sites that will cover a vast number of plays. You can specify the type,
genre, numbers of cast, authors, titles etc to help you tailor the selection to
suit your company.
Visit the
"Archives" to see the plays that I've
personally been involved with in one form or another.
I'm no expert, so
please send me an e mail, if you disagree with any of the information here or
indeed if you wish to add to it!.
Don't forget that you can place an advert, send a
picture or an interesting article for your company, on the "Your spotlight"
page.
The
last play was Bad Seed and you can read all about it in in my blog
